INDOOR BOWLS NEWS

The Mother and son combination of Carol and Paul Wright were victorious in the Auckland Mixed Pairs at the weekend.  Their pedigree dictates that they would be a formidable combination, with Paul a current NZ representative, and Carol a former NZ representative, even so, it's no mean feat to lift the silverware for the 4th year in a row!

The next step for the pair is to win the regional play off, so they can try and win the elusive NZ Mixed Pairs crown.  Last year they were agonizingly close and finished 2nd.  Will 2023 be their year?

Congratulations to our Indoor Bowls members who have podium finishes at the Napier Easter Tournament.  This event is a great way to kick start the indoor season and attracts many top players from around the country. 

 

Alex Reed won both the triples and fours events - teaming up with his Mum Debbie Reed and step-dad Don Harris.  They were joined in the fours by Dora.  Alex was 3rd equal in the pairs with Colin Williams. 

 

Club mate Matthew Farquhar was 2nd in the triples, Matthew played with Taupo's Robin and Jacqui Porter.

Great effort once again by our Indoor Bowlers!

In the final they beat the Manurewa Cossie side of Rodney Mills (S), Bruce McGee, Noel Louden (2) and George Paice (L).

Special mention to Jean-Claude Fuller, a pirate in Te Atatu clothing, who was 3rd equal.
